Healing By Faith

Healing by Faith is a grief management workshop for bereaved families, professionals, and clergy.  Its purpose is to promote healing and to raise awareness of the grief process.  Every one of us at some point in time will have to face grief or minister to someone who is grieving.  Grief not only affects us emotionally, but mentally, physically, and spiritually.  Participants of the workshop will learn what grief is, the stages, and how to cope.  Emphasis will be placed on living through, not "getting over" grief.  Most importantly, participants will learn why God allows us to suffer and how to trust Him when we don’t understand.

The panel of presenters for the workshop is comprised of professionals who counsel bereaved families, and individuals who have experienced grief first hand.  The first half of the workshop will focus on grief in general, while the second half will focus on a more specific type of grief or topic, (i.e.  Men and grief, infertility, children and grief).  Each participant will have a choice of attending two out of the six workshops offered in the afternoon.  Each session is one hour each.

Healing by Faith will also allow families the opportunity to connect with one another.  As you may know, a major part of the healing process is being able to share your story with others.  Participants will learn that they are not alone in their grief journey.  They will be able to establish friendships with people from all over the area.  They will meet people with similar stories thus letting them know they can make it through as well.

Each participant will receive a packet of the material covered in the workshop, novelty items, and be entered in the drawing for door prizes.  Breakfast and lunch are provided.  They will also have the opportunity to visit vendor booths during breaks.  Some of those vendors include, Artist Danny Ratcliff, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, and more.

Healing by Faith is an entire day of healing!  Anyone who has faced any type of grief is welcome.  We also encourage those who will be ministering to, and interacting with the bereaved to come out as well.  We even encourage those who have not yet experienced grief but want to be prepared when they encounter it.  No matter what denomination, one of the most common questions asked is, “Why has God allowed this to happen?”  We encourage everyone to come and receive the answer.
